- Long description
- Round hide shield, edged with light and dark brown feathers and a border of coiled plant stem. The feathers are attached to the edge of the hide with a cotton braid; when the shield is not in use they can be folded back into the centre. The coiled plant stem is stitched to the hide with cotton string. The outer coil is decoratively bound with fine cotton yarn and small red feathers. On the back of the shield are two hand grips, bound with cotton string and attached to two parallel hardwood sticks. [LM 14/3/2007]
