- Long description
- Knife [.1] of flissa form with long, narrow, single edged blade and brass handle, in a carved wooden sheath [.2] The blade is decorated with incised patterns that are inlaid with brass. The handle is overlaid with brass and also has incised decoration. The butt is stepped and tapers to a blunt end beneath the grip. It could be described as being shaped like a dog's head, but it is not intended to represent a dog. The sheath is carved on one side with geometric patterns and has a hole carved through it near the top. It is bound at four points with bands of iron, not tin as mentioned in the accession book.
