Long description
Spear comprising a pointed metal spearhead socketed onto a wooden shaft, with metal spike socketed onto the butt. Both the spearhead and spike are narrow with a square cross-section and taper towards a point. The head has a long, deep flange on each side and expanded bands below this, at the top of the socket. The butt spike also has transverse bands between the spike and socket. [JMC [OPS move] 24/8/2018]
