Research and responses

NB Chapman has [presumably] the same place as Pleudihen [a dolmen in Brittany] [Chapman, 1981: 412]. Pitt Rivers visited Brittany in October - November 1878 and March - April 1879 [Bowden, 1991: 86-7][Chapman, 1981: 410-2][Thompson, 1977: 61] [AP Leverhulme project on founding collection 1995-1998]

There is a bridge in the commune of Pleudihen-sur-Rance named Lessart [also adjacent to a known Bronze Age site]. This may be the find spot for this object. [MN 20/05/2009]
