1938.35.1105Pistol-tinder-box. Shaped like a long pistol. Brass mountings and iron mechanism with wood body. The tinder box and mechanism are a good distance from the trigger. On one side of the tinder box, towards the front of the object, the following words are engraved: 'BRANDER & POTTS 70.MINORIES LONDON'. The mechanism is mainly hidden, but there is a piece of flint, wrapped in ?leather in situ in the hammer. The body is smooth and polished and the butt is curved and slightly thickens towards the end.
