Long description
Model of dhow 'Pumbao', painted white on the bottom, with green and red stripe along side. The word 'PUMBAO' is painted in white along the side of the vessel. The upper section of the ship's sides is made of woven basketry material on both sides, whilst the lower half is carved from wood. Suspended from the rear of the boat is an anchor, attached by plant fibre string. Life preserver attached via string in the centre of the boat. At the front of the boat is a large rudder and a steering wheel. The model has a chip board stand for support, this was not a part of the original donated object.
