Apron, large and heavy, made from two panels of black, red, maroon & yellow wool woven in a strange technique (almost an embroidery) to produce geometric carpet-type patterns similar to those on the sleeves of the dress (1981.35.23). Decorated near hem with a heavy piece of thick wool with bands of red, maroon, black fringe; wide ribbons of gold thread and lines of black, white & brass beads. Commercial cord for tying around waist at top edges. Part of complete woman's costume 1981.35.23-30.
