- Long description
- Apron. It is a red striped wool rectangle with a yarn string across the top for tying around the waist. Down the sides and across the hem is a strip of embroidered black wool with cross-stitched abstract floral pattern. Across the centre is a strip of white cotton with beads & sequins sewn onto it. Onto the red wool area are sewn four coins (dated 1930) with white plastic hearts attached, a Yugoslavian coin of 1931 made into a brooch, and a brooch made of beaded filagree brass & a silver orb. Part of woman's dance costume 1981.35.11-22 [of the apron's listed in this collection this is the most 'authentic'.
