Description
Richly decorated mat of plant fibre and textile, with two layers. [EH [OPS Move] 4/7/2017]
Long description
Rectangular mat constructed from two layers of mat stitched together. The larger bottom layer is constructed from woven strips of plant fibre and on one face has a border of green textile, embroidered and beaded with a foliate design. The smaller top layer is made of plant fibre completely covered in textile and has a border of pink textile, embroidered and beaded with a foliate design, and a yellow silk central panel. Embroidered and appliquéd dark red velvet pieces are stitched around the edges of the yellow silk. [EH [OPS Move] 4/7/2017]
