Long description

Dagger [.1] with two edged iron blade and decoratively stamped brass hilt. In a leather sheath [.2] with tassel and carrying loop. The hilt has stamped circles and lines along one surface. The butt is T shaped with tapering ends and a triangular perforation through the hilt. The sheath has impressed line decoration on both surfaces. The tassel is made from white and red/brown leather and is attached to the tip. The top of the sheath has three bands of white leather. Between these bands the leather has been ?dyed black. The carrying loop is made from soft leather and is stitched to the back of the mouth with a strip of white leather. [SM 21/06/2007]
