Long description
Sickle-shaped knife carried by chiefs as a symbol of rank. The knife has a sickle-shaped blade and straight, long thin body. The handle is made from carved wood inlaid with a strip of copper or copper alloy, which is wound around its length. The metal strip is wound over the wood and then the spaces have been filled with a ?resin to give a smooth surface. [SM (Verve) 14/05/2015]
