Description
Small wooden dao carrier with carved decoration and string belt for a boy. [SM 27/02/2007]
Long description
Small wooden dao carrier with carved decoration and string belt for a boy. The carrier is carved on one side with interlocking ovals which make a pattern of a 13 petal-like carved areas. There are two rows of carved lines, or chevrons to either side of this interlocking oval pattern. The belt is threaded through the back of the carrier and is made of many lengths of string. There is a knot mid way down on one side and a looped section midway on the other side. These presumably acted as a method of joining the belt around the waist. [SM 27/02/2007]
