Long description
Doll wearing a light pink shawl edged with silver over coats of red and a black dress, all with silver trimming and decoration. The doll is made of pale cream material which has been stuffed. Her legs are dressed in red woolly leggings with the feet exposed. Beneath the elaborate red and black coats is a purple silk dress with some short lengths of red ?felt hanging from the neck. The black coat is over this dress, and the coat is decorated with numerous vertical strips of silver material which have been sewn into position. At the bottom edge of this coat is a pair of parallel silver lines running around the hem. The red coat over the black is edged in silver and also has a pair of parallel bands of silver running around the hem. The doll's facial features have been embroidered onto the cream material of the face, and hanging from the nose is a nose ring of gold coloured metal with four beads of white and blue in colour attached. Around her neck the doll wears numerous strings of beads, pearly white, black shell, and a purple bound chain with silver pendants inlaid with shell strung from it. There is also a pendant of a man's portrait inside a silver metal and glass frame hanging from the doll's neck. There is also a large pendant of green glass with gold paint over a relief design, on either side of this pendant three large pearl beads have been strung. The doll has elaborate earrings of metal rings with many beads attached on wires. These beads are pink, orange, white, blue, turquoise and silver. On the head black material has been fixed into position as the hair, with an elaborate pearl and silver bead head-piece on top. The doll also has a long magenta pink shawl, edged in silver which is folded up. Some of the beads have come away from the earrings, and have been stored in a numbered sealed bag. This bag is with the doll.
