Long description
Decoration for a mule; straps of purple leather lined with hide, from which are hung 19 short straps bearing gold coloured medallions. The straps form a circle; it has two iron buckles. At opposite sides of the circle are a short leather loop and a strap of leather. The leather is stitched to the hide with purple thread. Along the belt are pieces of gold coloured metal clasped to the leather. These measure approximately 27 mm in length by 19 mm in width. The medallions and rectangular metal pieces are decorated with symbols raised from the surface. [MJD 27/11/2009]
