20 Cornmarket was part of Virgin Megastores in 2006 [AP 03/07/2006]
The crucible came from the site of Marks and Spencer's when they were rebuilding in 1934-1935 see '18–20 Cornmarket ... This was the original Marks & Spencer site in Oxford. The store demolished these three old buildings in 1934 , and the shop opened on 10 May 1935. It was so popular that it had extended its premises northwards to 21 Cornmarket by November 1939.'
