Borer made of bamboo. Part of apparatus for boring shell-armlets. The borer is a long cylinder of bamboo. There is a piece of dark stone tied to the shaft. The stone is tied on with a length of plant fibre. The stone is hand axe shaped. One end tapers to a point and the other end has a wide cutting edge. [MJD DDF Body Arts Project 2010/2011 02/12/2010]
