Description
Angular single-edged sword [.1], parang pandat, forged from an iron bar of rectangular section. With carved wooden sheath [.2] inlaid with silver foil. [LM 05/06/2007]
Long description
Sword has jagged point and metal cross guard. The grip, a continuation of the blade, is covered with silver foil and bound with wire and copper alloy; it is decorated with tufts of red and black hair and the remains of a carved ivory pommel. Sheath has openwork carving and hair tufts at the base, and a carrying strap of red cotton textile. [LM 05/06/2007]
