Dao with single edged expanding blade and bamboo haft bound with plaited red cane and orchid stem with a red goat hair fringe.
Long description
Dao with single edged expanding blade and bamboo haft bound with plaited red cane and orchid stem with a red goat hair fringe. The blade has a slightly curved cutting edge and expands along its length to a wide concave tip. the haft is bound with plaited red cane at the join with the blade and a larger band of basketry cane and orchid stem. The goat hair is attached in tufts into holes in the haft butt. [SM 06/07/2007]
