Long description
Hoe, with a metal blade set between a bent handle of cane. The blade is roughly round, it narrows then expands into a rectangular shape. The handle is made of a single piece of cane bent in half, the blade is suspended at the bend in the cane. The cane is fixed into place with cane bindings. [AB [OPS Move] 14/12/2016]

It seems clear that the name of the collector and donor should be Samuel Edward Peal of Sibsagar, who died in 1897, although perhaps the items were donated after this death by a relative with the same initials? See biographies for more information [AP 20/08/2013]
