Long description
Rectangular basketry lid woven using brown and black material. The interior of the top is simply twill woven; the exterior of the flat top is decorated with concentric rectangles of alternating colours, with the exception of one rectangle which includes geometric deviations. In the centre are two squares made of bi-coloured triangles. The sides aer decorated with zig-zag lines in black, a geometric fret or scroll pattern and a band of squares with Xs in the centre. The rim is reinforced with bent ?cane which has been tied to it. [MOBB [OPS move] 17/11/2016]
