Long description
Wooden lace-bobbin winder. Cuboid base with hollow for drawer [1947.5.3 .2]. Two cylindrical eccentric uprights attached to the top of the base, one of which is attached to a circular winding wheel with incised concentric bands, a raised central knob and a handle. The other upright has a rectangular slot cut through it and a circular perforation through which a cylindrical piece is inserted. A piece of string is attached to the cylindrical piece inside the rectangular slot, and rests in the rim around the edge of the circular winding wheel. A cylindrical piece of wood is nailed to a pivot at one end of the base. [EH [OPS Move] 13/6/2017]
