Man's shoes with thick sole studded with hob nails round the edge of the toe and heel. The uppers are plain black leather with a white edging and sole lining of felt. The sides are low sloping up to the back of the heel, at right angles to the edge going over the toes. [SM (Verve) 25/03/2014]
