Carved wooden mask of face with openwork headdress. [ZM 21/05/2013]
Long description
Wooden mask of a face with full cheeks and a carved open mouth showing the teeth, which are pointed. The openwork headdress looks like a floral design (these type of design in the literature is often said to be a depiction of spiders). For the rims of the eyes, ears, eyebrows and the outline of the headdress design the wood is unpainted or unstained, the rest of the outer surface is painted or stained black. [ZM 21/05/2013]
