- Long description
- Sword with straight, tapering, two edged blade and iron hilt with perforated guard, knuckleguard, scrolling quillon and pommel. The blade has a short fuller on both surfaces. The guard is bi-lobed and perforated all over with small holes. It has a single quillon which projects from one side and curves forward towards the join between the blade and the hilt. On the inside of the guard is a thumb grip, consisting of a loop of iron running from the outside of the guard to the base of the grip. The grip is bound with iron ?wire in a herringbone pattern.
