Sword with short, two edged blade with stamped decoration and reptile skin bound wooden hilt with tapering iron pommel. [SM 25/10/2007]
Long description
Sword with short, two edged blade with stamped decoration and reptile skin bound wooden hilt with tapering iron pommel. The blade is decorated on both surfaces with stamped zigzags and has two diamond shapes formed from stamped 'dashes' on the back of the blade. The hilt has a flared guard and is covered with reptile skin that is stitched together up the back with ?plant fibre string. Below the pommel is a 'basket' of iron wire. The pommel is a tapering cylinder of iron. [SM 25/10/2007]
